Basketball Recap: Walsh Jesuit Drops Season-High Score on St. Francis Desales

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Walsh Jesuit). They enjoyed a cozy 63-46 win over the St. Francis DeSales Stallions on Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Warriors with their most commanding win of the season.

Walsh Jesuit found their leader in sophomore Kara Esterak, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Esterak is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Kami Digennaro was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Walsh Jesuit smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Walsh Jesuit's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for St. Francis DeSales, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-9.

Walsh Jesuit and St. Francis DeSales could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Walsh Jesuit (ranked 276th) will meet Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy (ranked 119th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales will take on Bishop Hartley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 276 places (372 vs. 96).
