Trenton (Fla.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it ran in a two-point conversion with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over
Newberry (Fla.) 36-35.
The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at 14. The Tigers took the lead for good on a two-point conversion in the fifth quarter.
Ra'kheem Hoyt played well for the Panthers. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to 27 on the year.
Newberry came in giving up 13.8 points per game this season. NHS struggled against Trenton's offense, which entered the game scoring 46.7 points per game.
The loss comes after Newberry defeated Union County 18-13 last week. The loss snapped the Panthers' 2-game winning streak.
