Football Recap: Upper Merion Area Takes a Loss

Upper Merion Area played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 42-20 to Pope John Paul II. The Vikings have struggled against Pope John Paul II recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Pope John Paul II found their leader in sophomore Tj Dozier, who threw for 172 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

Upper Merion Area's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Pope John Paul II, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Upper Merion Area didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 32-27 victory against Norristown on the 24th. As for Pope John Paul II, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 27-7 win against Owen J. Roberts on the 24th.
