Basketball Recap: Friday's Loss Ends Albany's Winning Streak

Albany and Colonie Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Albany had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 56-41 to the Colonie Central Wolfpack. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Albany still got an impressive performance from Azera Gates, who posted 12 points along with five assists and three steals. Jasani Francis Torras was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Albany smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Albany moved to 17-5 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Colonie Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Colonie Central, they will square off against Shaker at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Shaker comes in on 16 and Colonie Central on nine.
