Soccer Game Preview: Evergreen vs. Mariner

The Evergreen Wolverines will challenge the Mariner Marauders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Evergreen came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Renton, falling 5-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Evergreen came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Renton are ranked 225th).

Meanwhile, Mariner had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They and Meadowdale finished up their game with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for Mariner as the squad haven't won a game since March 28th.

Evergreen's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. With that draw, Mariner's record moves to 2-6-3.
