Basketball Game Preview: South Dade Buccaneers vs. Naples Golden Eagles

The South Dade Buccaneers and the Naples Golden Eagles will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Wednesday, South Dade made easy work of Coral Park and carried off a 55-31 victory. The Buccaneers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 24 points or more this season.

South Dade's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Justice Sheppard, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds. Jurnee Walters was another key player, putting up 13 points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Naples had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Golden Gate on Friday by a score of 58-34 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Golden Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Dade's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Naples, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
