Recap: Sierra Blanca Vaqueros vs. Van Horn Eagles
The Sierra Blanca Vaqueros's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 37-19 bruising from Van Horn. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sierra Blanca in their matchups with Van Horn: they've now lost five in a row.
Van Horn's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Martinez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Amy Garcia, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Sierra Blanca's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Van Horn, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
