Wendover skates past Manila with ease

Recap: Wendover Wildcats vs. Manila Mustangs

The Wendover Wildcats had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Manila 65-38 on the road. Wendover has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wendover to victory, but perhaps none more so than Raul Valle, who scored 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tre Tangaro, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Manila still got an impressive performance from Riley Browning, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Browning hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. Teague Goodman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.

Manila struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Wendover's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Manila, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Wendover will head out on the road to square off against Rich at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Rich is ranked 70th, while Wendover is ranked 58th). As for Manila, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Bryce Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th.
