Recap: Rice Consolidated vs. Wharton
The Rice Consolidated Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They suffered a tough 5-0 loss at the hands of Wharton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rice Consolidated in their matchups with Wharton: they've now lost three in a row.
Rice Consolidated's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10-3. As for Wharton, their win bumped their record up to 2-8-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rice Consolidated will take on Palacios at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Rice Consolidated's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end. As for Wharton, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Bay City at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Bay City will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Wharton surely won't give up without a fight.
