Basketball Game Preview: Philip Scotties vs. Edgemont Moguls

Philip is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Edgemont a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Philip Scotties will look to defend their home court against the Edgemont Moguls at 6:00 p.m. Philip has given up an average of 59.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Last Friday, Philip came up short against Kadoka and fell 68-57. The Scotties were down 52-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Edgemont was beaten by Harding County 73-35 last Friday.

Philip will need to focus on slowing down Keaton Darrow, one of several Edgemont players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 12 points and eight rebounds. Darrow is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Morse, who put up nine points and six boards.

Edgemont's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Philip, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Everything came up roses for Philip against Edgemont in their previous matchup back in February of 2017, as the squad secured a 66-22 victory. Does Philip have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edgemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
