Softball Preview: Lincoln Academy Eagles vs. Camden Hills Windjammers
The Lincoln Academy Eagles will head out to face off against the Camden Hills Windjammers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Wednesday just wasn't the day for Lincoln Academy's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Medomak Valley on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Lincoln Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was C Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Camden Hills, as they earned their first away win of the season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Brunswick a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The Windjammers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 15, 2024 (when they won 11-0).
Brunswick's batters probably weren't too happy with Maya Stone, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up two walks).
At the plate, Thea Laukka was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evangelene Morneau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Lincoln Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Camden Hills, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
