Basketball Recap: Deer Creek Falls Short of Norman in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Deer Creek can now relate to. They came up short against the Norman Tigers on Friday, falling 59-33. The Antlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

The defeat snapped Deer Creek's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 21-5 record. As for Norman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Deer Creek will face off against Owasso at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Owasso knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Deer Creek likes a good challenge. As for Norman, they will square off against Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
