Recap: Fairwinds Christian Knights vs. Concord Christian Academy Minutemen
This season hasn't been kind to the Fairwinds Christian Knights, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They fell to Concord Christian Academy 32-26. Fairwinds Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Concord Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Gabby Johnson was Fairwinds Christian's leading scorer, having posted 13 points. Johnson also led the team in rebounds with 11.
Gabbie Moore took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Concord Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Aubrey Collison, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Collison also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Fairwinds Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 10-5 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Concord Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairwinds Christian will take on Seaside Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Seaside Christian Academy is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Concord Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Calvary Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Calvary Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
