Lovejoy and Wakeland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lovejoy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wakeland Wolverines, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Leopards of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August.

Lovejoy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Wakeland work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Lovejoy had strong showings from Sienna Franks, who had 20 digs, and Emerson Boyd, who had seven digs and 18 assists. Boyd has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 17 times she's played.

With the loss, Lovejoy broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 36-9. As for Wakeland, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 33-6.

Lovejoy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wakeland has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Argyle on the 19th.
