Basketball Recap: Elba Bluejays vs. Nebraska Christian Eagles
The Elba Bluejays's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Nebraska Christian, falling 61-20. Elba has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Elba saw an underclassman step up: JarahLynn Morrow scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Elba struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Elba has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season. As for Nebraska Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elba won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Nebraska Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers on Friday.
