Westlake had already won eight in a row and they went ahead and made it nine on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Steele Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Chaparrals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Chloe Kelly paced Westlake's offense, picking up nine kills. Kelly got some help from Clayton Kelly and her 11 assists. Finally, Chloe was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Kaycie Lopez and Addison Moncada certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Lopez had 14 assists and 11 digs, while Moncada had 12 digs and two assists. Moncada has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played. Xeriyah Garner also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Westlake's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Steele, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Westlake has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against La Vernia on the 21st. As for Steele, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Rouse on the 21st.
