Basketball Recap: Sherman Indian Comes Up Short

If Sherman Indian was riding high fresh off their 70-23 takedown of La Sierra Academy last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sherman Indian Braves were beaten by the California Lutheran C-Hawks 77-36 on Monday. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.

It was another big night for Tyler Treder, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 17 rebounds for California Lutheran. Treder is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Ash, who dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 13 boards, and 11 assists.

Sherman Indian dropped their record down to 3-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for California Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5.

Sherman Indian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-45 defeat against California School for the Deaf-Riverside on the 18th. As for California Lutheran, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Santa Rosa Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
