Basketball Recap: Riverside-Durham Takes a Loss

After flying high against Louisburg last Monday, Riverside-Durham came back down to earth. The match between the Riverside-Durham Pirates and the Jordan Falcons didn't end well, with the Riverside-Durham Pirates falling 72-53. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Jordan's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Julian Lowe, who went 10 for 15 on his way to 25 points. With that strong performance, Lowe is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Derek Ross Jr was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten assists.

Riverside-Durham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Jordan, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside-Durham will face off against Athens Drive at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Jordan, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chapel Hill at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
