Football Recap: Ludlowe Comes Up Short

Ludlowe entered their matchup against Greenwich on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Falcons had to suffer through a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Cardinals. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Ludlowe took the loss, they still got scores from Ryan Frame and Peyton Sparacino.

While Ludlowe came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Greenwich: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 29.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Frame and Jackson Danylko, who each logged one passes deflected. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Ludlowe; they were averaging 58.3%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 58.3%.

Greenwich had a senior duo take command as Jack Kelly(C) rushed for 177 yards and three scores on only 14 carries and Hector Lopez(C) rushed for 110 yards and a pair of TDs. Kelly(C)'s longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards.

Ludlowe suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 5-2. As for Greenwich, their record is now 6-1.

Coming up, Ludlowe will venture away from home to challenge St. Joseph at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cadets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Greenwich, they will head out to square off against Wilton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
