Football Recap: Elkmont Takes a Loss

Elkmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Ardmore Tigers and fell 59-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 49-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Elkmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reid Bardos threw for 313 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries. Cooper Wales was Bardos' top target, picking up 104 receiving yards and one score.

Elkmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Ardmore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Elkmont nor Ardmore have any future games scheduled.
