Softball Game Preview: Marshall County Marshals vs. Hickman County Falcons

Marshall County has gone a perfect 7-0 against Hickman County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Marshals will challenge the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Marshall County 2.9, Hickman County 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Marshall County fell victim to Lyon County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lyons by a score of 2-0. It was the first time this season that the Marshals let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Hickman County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Pilots on the board, marking their second-straight 20-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Marshall County's defeat dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Hickman County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Everything went Marshall County's way against Hickman County in their previous matchup back in March, as Marshall County made off with a 13-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marshals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
