For the second straight game, Godley will face off against Hillsboro. The Wildcats will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Godley has three straight victories, Hillsboro has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Godley had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Hillsboro on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Eagles 16-3. Considering the Wildcats have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Adam Pempsell made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Godley got a great performance from Grayson Crane as he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave Crane a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Godley let Byron McClure and Ryder Papasan run wild. McClure got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Papasan got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Papasan has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcos Molina, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Godley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hillsboro only posted an OBP of .231.
Godley pushed their record up to 26-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of four runs across that stretch. As for Hillsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.
Hillsboro's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Godley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. It's a different story for Hillsboro, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Godley's hitters?
