Softball Preview: Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains vs. Gibsonburg Golden Bears        
        
		
            
 The Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains will head out on the road to  take on  the Gibsonburg Golden Bears at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopewell-Loudon is looking to tack on another W to their 20-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
 On Wednesday, Hopewell-Loudon narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Danbury  3-1.
  Isabelle Beidelschies made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out nine batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and not a single walk). Beidelschies has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in nine consecutive pitching appearances. Beidelschies was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-2 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Beidelschies wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Brynn Sendelbach, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Gibsonburg entered their tilt with Calvert with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victor by  a  13-3 margin over the Senecas on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Gibsonburg, who have now won five matchups by seven  runs or more  so far this season.
  Arianna Aldrich tossed a big game,   pitching five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   five  hits.
 On the hitting side,  Mariah McNett and  Emily Henderson did most of the damage at the plate:  McNett  went 4-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Henderson  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Leah Hall, who  went 2-for-4 with a  home run and two  runs.
 Hopewell-Loudon's record now sits at 15-2. As for Gibsonburg, their record is now 10-6.
 Hopewell-Loudon came out on top in a nail-biter against Gibsonburg  when the teams last played  on April 5th, sneaking past  9-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hopewell-Loudon since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
