Softball Recap: Barker Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Barker waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They skirted past the Oakfield-Alabama Hornets 7-5. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two runs.

The team relied heavily on Lexi Brazell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mady Flint, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Barker pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs across that stretch. As for Oakfield-Alabama, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Barker does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oakfield-Alabama, they will head out on the road to face off against Webber at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hornets 2.8, the Tigers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
