Baseball Recap: Clinton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Florence on Saturday, Clinton came back down to earth. The Arrows fell 7-4 to the Evangelical Christian Eagles on Tuesday.

Clinton got a good showing from London McKenzie, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. McKenzie has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Clinton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stone Crain, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Brayden Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Evangelical Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Clinton will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Center Hill at 5:00 p.m. The Arrows' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season. As for Evangelical Christian, they will challenge South Panola at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
