Westminster Christian Academy were the 54-18 winner over the Thrive Academy Bulldogs when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Westminster Christian Academy fell just short of Thrive Academy by a score of 28-25. Westminster Christian Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Westminster Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of David Beazley, who picked up 144 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Brock Stomps who threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns.
Thrive Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Leonard Hicks out in front who picked up 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Keiron Ross, who rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.0 yards per carry.
Westminster Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Thrive Academy, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Westminster Christian Academy will square off against St. Edmund on Friday. St. Edmund will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Thrive Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
