Volleyball Recap: Woodlan Warriors vs. Leo Lions
Woodlan lost against Leo on April 13th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Warriors fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2.
Woodlan wouldn't go down easily and took Leo into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 15-6.
Carter Fleek paced Woodlan's offense, picking up 18 kills. Fleek got some help from Ty Louden and his 19 assists. Finally, Fleek was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Woodlan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Leo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Woodlan will challenge Fort Wayne Snider at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Leo, they will head out to face off against Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
