Recap: Yarmouth Clippers vs. Oceanside Mariners
If the Yarmouth Clippers were riding high off their 65-44 takedown of the Cape Elizabeth Capers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Yarmouth fell 78-67 to Oceanside on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (65), Yarmouth still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Carter Galley, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 14 rebounds for Oceanside. The match was Galley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cohen Galley, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Yarmouth has fallen quite a ways from their 16-5 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Oceanside, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yarmouth will be home for the holidays to greet Freeport at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oceanside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Winslow at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
