Longmeadow has gone 7-1 against Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lancers will host the Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Longmeadow comes in on three and Central on four.

Longmeadow had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Putnam Vo-Tech on Tuesday. The Lancers blew past the Beavers 3-0.

Longmeadow walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Longmeadow can attribute much of their success to Caroline Croteau, who had seven aces.

Croteau wasn't the only good servers: Longmeadow was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Central got the win against Westfield on Monday by a conclusive 3-0.

While Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Longmeadow's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.

Longmeadow took their win against Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
