Baseball Recap: Caldwell Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Caldwell Academy's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Coastal Christian Centurions 21-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Caldwell Academy got a massive performance out of Neal Swindell, who scored five runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, Swindell posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Spencer McBurney, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Caldwell Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coastal Christian only posted an OBP of .400.

The win got Caldwell Academy back to even at 1-1.

Caldwell Academy has already played their next game, a 16-7 defeat against Wilmington Christian Academy on the 1st. As for Coastal Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-0 loss against Dixon on the 3rd.
