Football Recap: Liberty County Skates Past Vernon with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blountstown, Liberty County was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Vernon Yellowjackets, posting a 45-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their three-point performance the match before.

Matthew Lollie had a dynamite game, rushing for 65 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 91 receiving yards and one score. Those 65 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Wylder Harr, who threw for 140 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 18 points in total. All those points came courtesy of Cesar Lopez: he added 18 points with six field goals.

Liberty County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lollie. Liberty County received some extra help from Lollie, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The victory got Liberty County back to even at 1-1. As for Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
