Blackman is 1-9 against Oakland since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blaze will face off against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Blackman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.
Blackman gave up the first runs on Sunday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Riverdale by a score of 10-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blaze.
The team relied heavily on Khloe Kolb, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Jessica Kinderdine also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Blackman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakland). They blew past Rockvale 19-2 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with Rockvale: they've now won seven in a row.
Chloe Aaron was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Jazmyne Watkins, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Blackman's record is now 12-10. As for Oakland, their record now sits at 21-5-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Blackman has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Oakland struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Blackman suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Oakland when the teams last played back in April. Can the Blaze avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
