Baseball Recap: Hilliard Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Hilliard unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 5-2 to the Eagle's View Warriors on Monday. The Red Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hilliard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Bayless, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. What's more, Bayless also posted a 2.330 ERA, which is the lowest he's posted since back in March of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilliard will challenge Paxon School For Advanced Studies at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th. As for Eagle's View, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
