Basketball Recap: Giddings Takes a Loss

Giddings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by the La Grange Leopards and fell 79-32. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1278th, while the Leopards are ranked 468th).

Kylie Trlicek was her usual excellent self, going 13 of 21 on her way to 30 points along with eight steals and five assists for La Grange. Trlicek has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Campbell Cooper Sg 2027, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to eight steals and six boards.

Giddings' defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for La Grange, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season.

Giddings will take on Bellville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Grange, they will head out to square off against Caldwell at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. La Grange has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 199 points over their last three contests.
