Point Loma was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to the Carlsbad Lancers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pointers of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2021.

Point Loma took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. After all that action, the final score was 13-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19.

Olivia Town was nothing short of spectacular for Carlsbad: she had 19 digs and eight aces. Town is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had four or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Fitzpatrick-Hill, who had 11 digs and 16 assists.

Point Loma's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Carlsbad, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Point Loma's road trip will continue as they head out to face El Toro at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carlsbad, they will take on Poway at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
