Recap: Vanguard Academy Mozart vs. IDEA Edinburg College Prep
Vanguard Academy Mozart lost against IDEA Edinburg College Prep back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Vanguard Academy Mozart ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-44 walloping at the hands of IDEA Edinburg College Prep. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vanguard Academy Mozart in their matchups with IDEA Edinburg College Prep: they've now lost three in a row.
IDEA Edinburg College Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sebastian Alvarez, who scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Alvarez hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Tristan Goodrum was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Vanguard Academy Mozart's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanguard Academy Mozart will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Vanguard Academy Rembrandt at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for IDEA Edinburg College Prep, they will head out on the road to challenge IDEA North Mission at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
