Soccer Game Preview: Blue Ridge vs. Seneca

The Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers will face off against the Seneca Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Blue Ridge headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Carolina Academy let them put that streak behind them. The Fighting Tigers' defense stepped up to hand the Trojans a 5-0 shutout on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for Blue Ridge as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

They hit Carolina Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ella Vanzant (2), Liz Ojeda Ramos, Lillian Carter, and Jasmin Martinez.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca). They put the hurt on Carolina Academy with a sharp 9-2 win on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for Seneca in their matchups with Carolina Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Seneca pushed their record up to 7-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six games. As for Blue Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 2-8-1.
