Softball Game Preview: Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones vs. Cloudland Highlanders

The Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones will challenge the Cloudland Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Elizabethton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Cloudland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Elizabethton came up short against David Crockett and fell 5-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Fighting Cyclones in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Cloudland made easy work of University School on Tuesday and carried off a 19-4 victory. Considering the Highlanders have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Cloudland and bumps their season record up to 7-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Elizabethton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
