Softball Game Preview: Madison Mustangs vs. Haywood Tomcats

For the second straight game, Madison will face off against Haywood. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Tomcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Madison took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Haywood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs won by a run and slipped past the Tomcats 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

For Haywood's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Smoot, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Madison's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Haywood, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-4.
