Baseball Recap: Ninnekah Owls vs. Union City Tigers
Ninnekah had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 8-15 to make it five. They lost 12-0 to the Union City Tigers. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Owls' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Union City, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4. Considering they have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For Union City's part, they got a great performance from Max Norton as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Norton a new career-high.
At the plate, Dawson Davidson was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Blake Bailey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
