Basketball Recap: Browne Takes a Loss

Browne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 87-63 to the Kellis Cougars.

When it comes to explaining why Browne lost, don't look at Dee Shaw. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmello Walker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Leading Kellis to victory were Jordan Parrish and Zion Woods. Parrish dropped a double-double on 33 points and 11 rebounds, while Woods went 7 of 16 on his way to 26 points and five steals. Parrish continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gak Kueth, who posted five points and five rebounds.

Browne's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Kellis, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.

Browne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-52 win against Rio Rico on the 27th. As for Kellis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-56 victory against Cactus on the 27th.
