San Clemente lost to Corona del Mar back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. San Clemente was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Corona del Mar. The Tritons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Joaquim Baumgardner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. San Clemente is undefeated when Baumgardner posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mike Erspamer, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for San Clemente and bumps their season record up to 8-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Corona del Mar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

San Clemente and Corona del Mar could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. San Clemente will challenge Fullerton at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday down 207 places (260 vs. 53). Meanwhile, Corona del Mar (ranked 123rd) will meet Huntington Beach (ranked third) at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
