Football Recap: Abington Heights Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Abington Heights had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the East Stroudsburg South Cavaliers by a score of 21-13 on Friday. This was payback for the Comets, who suffered a 33-14 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jayden Anglin was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

East Stroudsburg South's loss came despite strong showings from Marcos Belhaj and Gianni Gonnella. Belhaj gained 65 total yards, while Gonnella rushed for 119 yards. Another player making a difference was Ivan Laubach, who rushed for 84 yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Abington Heights will square off against West Scranton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Stroudsburg South, they will face off against Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
