Baseball Recap: Port Gibson Comes Up Short

Port Gibson lost against West Lincoln back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Port Gibson Blue Waves came up short against the West Lincoln Bears, falling 17-2. The Blue Waves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Port Gibson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Raphael Neal, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two stolen bases. Neal is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Port Gibson's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for West Lincoln, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-4.

Looking ahead, Port Gibson will welcome Franklin County at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. Port Gibson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season. As for West Lincoln, they have already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Salem on the 13th.
