Goreville is a perfect 6-0 against Carrier Mills-Stonefort since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Goreville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Zeigler-Royalton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blackcats.

Breanna (Brea) Suits spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ellie Tripp, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Vienna hit Carrier Mills-Stonefort with a seven-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats lost 11-1 to the Eagles. The Wildcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Carrier Mills-Stonefort's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Goreville, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Everything went Goreville's way against Carrier Mills-Stonefort when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Goreville made off with a 20-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
