Northview had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Artesia Pioneers.
Clementina Duran was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Luna was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Joy Sanchez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Northview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive games.
Northview's victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for Artesia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
