Baseball Game Preview: Vasquez Mustangs vs. Trinity Classical Academy Knights

Vasquez hasn't had much luck against Trinity Classical Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Knights at 4:15 p.m.

Vasquez lost 20-12 to Lancaster on Saturday. Even if the Mustangs couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Trinity Classical Academy came out on top against Fresno Christian on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagle an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Carlson made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Trinity Classical Academy is 6-3 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-8 otherwise. Carlson was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Trinity Classical Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Vasquez's loss dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Trinity Classical Academy, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Vasquez came up short against Trinity Classical Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 4-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
