Baseball Recap: Kennett Indians vs. Sikeston Bulldogs
After flying high against Portageville last Monday, Kennett came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Sikeston Bulldogs by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. Indians fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Wednesday.
Caleb Duncan and Jaxon Patterson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Duncan scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Patterson went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. Those hits marked the first that Patterson got this season. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Prewett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Kennett's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Sikeston, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.
