Baseball Game Preview: River View Raiders vs. Grundy Golden Wave

The River View Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Grundy Golden Wave at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. River View is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, River View came up short against Mount View and fell 8-5.

River View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Turner Addair, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Aiden Tester also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Phelps hit Grundy with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. Neither the Golden Wave nor the Hornets could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for an 8-8 draw.

River View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. Grundy's tie gives them a new season record of 8-3-1.

Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. River View has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. However, it's not like Grundy struggles in that department as they've averaged .561. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

River View came up short against Grundy in their previous matchup on April 9th, falling 13-8. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
