Softball Recap: Elkmont Red Devils vs. Grissom Tigers
Elkmont had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Grissom Tigers on Monday. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 11-4 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.
MJ Woodfin made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Savannah Williams was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. McKenzie Doner was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
